I found books concerning my topic area and selected a variety that addresses the topic with different lens. It is going to take me some time to scan through all of these.

Metaphors of memory : a history of ideas about the mind / Douwe Draaisma ; translated by Paul Vincent.

Historical look at how humans perceive memory and what metaphors we use to represent it. Useful for helping me generate imagery for my publication.

Forgetting : myths, perils and compensations / Douwe Draaisma ; translated by Liz Waters.

Draaisma obviously is very into this topic- having written multiple books on it. Here he advocates the art of forgetting- which he argues is a necessary and important human brain process.

Memory 101 / James Michael Lampinen, PhD, Denise R. Beike, PhD.

Helpful introductory overview of memory studies in general. Allows me to learn the terms and concepts used in this area of study.

In search of memory : the emergence of a new science of mind / Eric R. Kandel.

Kandel is a neuroscientist won the 2000 Nobel Prize (almost wrote Noble prize lol) in Physiology or Medicine for his work in the biological basis of memory. He writes about his journey to understanding memory.

Memory and Movies: What Films Can Teach Us about Memory (The MIT Press)/ John Seamon

I wanted to find a book that discusses visual and narrative representations of memory. This one looks at films and how the way they portray memory can demonstrate how the human memory works.
